The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Don Tommaso is an organic wine and earned the Gran Selezione distinction in 2014. There has always been a tiny cut of Merlot in this Sangiovese-based wine (that was first produced in 1995). In this vintage, the French grape accounts for 15% of the blend. This is a lovely wine with a soft and plush side that supports generous tones of cherry, dark fruit and baking spice. The wine's rich and velvety texture is what stands out most.
