Onshore Cellars is proud to showcase the exquisite wines of the renowned producer, Veuve Clicquot. This iconic champagne house has a rich history dating back to 1772, when it was founded by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron. Today, Veuve Clicquot is known for its exceptional quality and innovative techniques, making it one of the most sought-after champagne producers in the world.
Located in the heart of the Champagne region in France, Veuve Clicquot's vineyards cover over 400 hectares, spanning across some of the most prestigious appellations, including Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. The unique climate and soil of these regions provide the perfect conditions for growing the three main grape varieties used in champagne production: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier.
Veuve Clicquot is best known for its signature Yellow Label champagne, which has become an iconic symbol of the brand. This blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay is a testament to the house's commitment to excellence and consistency. The use of a higher percentage of Pinot Noir in the blend gives the champagne its full-bodied and robust character, while the Chardonnay adds elegance and finesse.
In addition to the Yellow Label, Veuve Clicquot offers a range of other exceptional cuvées, including the prestigious La Grande Dame and the vintage collection. Each of these champagnes showcases the unique characteristics of the different terroirs and grape varieties, providing a diverse and exciting range for wine enthusiasts.
One of the key factors that sets Veuve Clicquot apart from other champagne houses is its innovative approach to winemaking. In the early 1800s, Madame Clicquot, the widow of the founder, revolutionized the champagne industry with her invention of the riddling rack, which allowed
Myers
Myers's is a Jamaican rum producer, known primarily for its dark rum. Jamaica has a long history of rum production, with its spirits recognised for a distinctive style shaped by the island's climate, sugarcane agriculture, and traditional pot still distillation methods.
Jamaican rums are typically characterised by their full body and high ester content, the result of longer fermentation periods that develop funky, fruity, and sometimes pungent aromatic compounds. Myers's dark rum sits within this tradition, presenting the deep molasses-forward richness associated with the style. Dark rums of this type are frequently used in cocktails as well as consumed neat or over ice.
The core expression from Myers's is a dark rum bottled at 100cl, reflecting the brand's focus on a single, recognisable style rather than a broad portfolio. It remains a well-known name in the category, particularly in bartending contexts where its robust flavour profile makes it a reliable ingredient in classic rum-based drinks.
