Château de Nancelle is a producer based in Mâcon, in the southern reaches of Burgundy. The estate focuses on white wine production, drawing on the distinctive character of this limestone-rich corner of the region.

Mâcon has established itself as a source of mineral-driven Chardonnay, distinct from the finer-boned examples found further north in Côte d'Or. The appellation's slightly warmer climate and diverse soil composition produce wines with riper fruit character while maintaining the acidity and structure typical of Burgundian Chardonnay. La Roche Vineuse, a named vineyard within the broader Mâcon designation, is known for its calcaire soils that impart particular tension and definition to the wines made there.
