Bonacchi
Located in the picturesque region of Tuscany, Italy, Bonacchi is a prominent wine producer that has been crafting exceptional wines for over a century. Founded in 1903, this family-owned winery has a long-standing history of producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
The vineyards of Bonacchi are situated in the heart of Tuscany, in the Chianti Classico appellation. This area is known for its rolling hills, rich soil, and ideal climate, making it the perfect location for growing grapes. The winery has a total of 100 hectares of land, with 60 of those dedicated to vineyards. The rest of the land is used for olive trees, which are also an important part of the Tuscan landscape.
The winemaking philosophy at Bonacchi is focused on producing wines that showcase the authentic flavors and characteristics of the region. They use traditional winemaking techniques combined with modern technology to create elegant and balanced wines. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected to ensure only the best fruit is used in the production process.
One of the stand-out wines from Bonacchi is their Chianti Classico Riserva. This wine is made from a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, grown in the winery's oldest vineyards. It is aged in oak barrels for 24 months, resulting in a complex and well-structured wine with notes of cherry, plum, and spice.
In addition to their Chianti Classico, Bonacchi also produces a range of other wines, including a Super Tuscan blend, a Rosso di Montalcino, and a Vin Santo dessert wine. Each wine is crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in a portfolio of wines that truly represent the best of Tuscany.
Bonacchi's commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed, as their wines have
Bonacchi
Bonacchi is an Italian wine producer based in Tuscany, working within the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG appellation. Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy's most rigorously defined wine zones, situated in the southern part of the province of Siena around the hill town of Montalcino. The denomination requires wines to be produced exclusively from Sangiovese, locally referred to as Brunello, and imposes among the longest mandatory aging requirements of any Italian appellation.
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG wines are typically full-bodied and structured, with high acidity and firm tannins that allow for extended cellaring. The Riserva designation requires additional aging beyond the standard release, resulting in wines with greater complexity and depth. The Sangiovese grape in this part of Tuscany tends to express notes of dried cherry, leather, tobacco, and earthy minerality, with the specific character of a given wine shaped by the vineyard's altitude, aspect, and soil composition within the Montalcino zone.
Bonacchi's current range includes a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva from the 2017 vintage, a year that produced concentrated, well-structured wines in the appellation following a warm and dry growing season. The Riserva classification indicates extended time in both barrel and bottle before release, placing this wine among the more age-worthy expressions the denomination offers.
