Didier Dagueneau

Didier Dagueneau is a renowned wine producer from the Loire Valley in France. The estate is located in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, which is known for producing some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world. The estate was founded by Didier's father, Marcel Dagueneau, in the 1960s, and Didier took over in the 1980s.

Didier Dagueneau was a pioneer in the region, and he was known for his innovative approach to winemaking. He was one of the first producers in the Loire Valley to use oak barrels for aging his wines, and he was also one of the first to use wild yeasts for fermentation. These techniques have since been adopted by many other producers in the region.

The wines produced by Didier Dagueneau are known for their complexity and depth of flavor. They are made from grapes grown on the estate's 11 hectares of vineyards, which are planted on the famous Kimmeridgian limestone soils that are found in the region. The Pouilly-Fumé is the flagship wine of the estate, and it is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The Pouilly-sur-Loire is made from 100% Chasselas grapes, and it is a lighter, more delicate wine with notes of white flowers and citrus. Didier Dagueneau passed away in 2008, but his legacy lives on through his wines. The estate is now run by his son, Benjamin Dagueneau, who continues to produce some of the finest wines in the Loire Valley.
