Founded in 1986 by husband and wife team, Takashi and Emiko Takeno, the winery has grown from a small production of just 500 cases to over 5,000 cases today. The couple, originally from Japan, fell in love with Napa Valley during a visit and decided to make it their home. Their shared love for wine and their desire to create something truly special led them to purchase a small vineyard in the heart of the valley.

The Takenos are committed to sustainable and organic farming practices, which they believe not only produces better grapes but also helps to preserve the land for future generations. Their vineyards are carefully tended to by hand, and only the finest, hand-selected grapes make it into their wines.

The winery is best known for their signature Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a true reflection of the unique terroir of Napa Valley. The grapes are hand-harvested and aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, resulting in a rich and complex wine with velvety tannins and notes of dark berries, cassis, and a hint of oak.
