Tasting notes

The colour is brilliant, golden yellow, it moves in the glass and shows a beautiful structure and consistency. Complex, refined and structured. This is a wine that fully expresses the concept of the Mediterranean. In the glass it is immediately intense, you can perceive scents of burnt Mediterranean scrub and olive trees, reminiscent of notes of flint. The rich and intense bouquet releases scents of honey and dried apricot. In the smell evoking the memory of a hot summer day along our coast of Cilento. In the taste elegant and penetrating, which penetrates the mouth with a precise expressiveness. Opulent, fresh, balsamic, dynamic and persistent. Exciting and persistent finish. The finish is extremely pleasant, vital and persistent: with an important structure, almost as important as a red wine.

About this wine

San Salvatore 1988 produces distinctive white wines from Campania's celebrated Paestum region, where ancient Greek heritage and modern Italian winemaking converge. The estate focuses on indigenous grape varieties that thrive in this unique coastal terroir, capturing the essence of Southern Italy's most compelling wine landscapes.

This Greco white wine exemplifies the producer's commitment to expressing varietal character and regional identity. Greco brings a refreshing, mineral-driven profile with stone fruit complexity and a flinty edge, hallmarks of Paestum's volcanic soils and Mediterranean climate. The wine is full-bodied yet elegant, with a persistent finish that rewards contemplation and pairs beautifully with shellfish, lobster, white fish, and creamy poultry dishes. It also complements hard cheeses exceptionally well, making it versatile for both fine dining and sophisticated entertaining.

Whether enjoyed aboard a private yacht, in a villa setting, or at an elegant table, San Salvatore 1988's Greco represents authentic Southern Italian winemaking, fresh, food-friendly, and distinctly Paestum in character.
