Movia - Veliko Belo

Veliko Belo is Movia's white blend from Goriška Brda, the hilly wine region of western Slovenia that runs up to the Italian border. Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon Blanc come together in a textured, expressive white at 13% alcohol.

The nose is ripe yellow orchard fruit, citrus peel, white flowers and wild herbs. The palate is rounded yet fresh, with subtle nutty and honeyed notes from extended lees contact. Mineral tension and gentle phenolic grip give it structure, and the finish is savoury, saline and long.

Brda's hillside vineyards typically give ripe fruit alongside freshness and a stony, mineral line, which is what holds this blend together.

Serve it well chilled but not icy, so the texture shows. It suits white fish, chicken, goat cheese, green vegetables and anything built on fresh herbs and aromatics. Pour it with a long lunch or alongside a simple fish course at the dinner table.
