Vite Colte

Vite Colte

Vite Colte is a renowned wine producer located in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. The name translates to "cultivated vines" in Italian, which perfectly reflects the winery's dedication to producing exceptional wines from their carefully tended vineyards.

The history of Vite Colte dates back to 1953 when a group of passionate winemakers came together with the goal of reviving the traditional winemaking methods of the Piedmont region. They believed that the key to producing high-quality wines was to respect the land and its unique terroir, and this philosophy continues to guide the winery's practices to this day.

Vite Colte is located in the heart of the Langhe region, which is known for its picturesque landscapes and world-renowned wines. The winery's vineyards are spread across the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato areas, each with its own distinct microclimate and soil composition, allowing for the production of a diverse range of wines.

One of the most notable aspects of Vite Colte's winemaking is their focus on indigenous grape varieties. The winery specializes in producing wines made from Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Arneis grapes, which are all native to the Piedmont region. This dedication to local varieties not only allows Vite Colte to showcase the unique terroir of their vineyards but also helps to preserve the traditional winemaking culture of the region.

Vite Colte's commitment to quality is evident in every step of their winemaking process. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used in their wines. The winery also uses modern techniques, such as temperature-controlled fermentation, to preserve the freshness and character of the grapes.

The result of Vite Colte's dedication and passion is a portfolio of exceptional wines that have received critical acclaim from wine enthusiasts and experts worldwide. Their Barolo, made

Vite Colte

Vite Colte is a Piedmontese wine producer working across several of the region's key appellations, including Gavi DOCG, Langhe DOC, and Barbera d'Asti DOCG. Their range spans both white and red wines, drawing on grape varieties deeply rooted in northwestern Italy.

Gavi DOCG, in the southeastern corner of Piedmont near the Ligurian border, is built around Cortese, a white grape that typically produces wines with crisp acidity, delicate citrus and floral notes, and a lean mineral character. Barbera d'Asti DOCG, one of Piedmont's most widely planted red appellations, yields wines from Barbera that are typically high in acidity with deep colour and red fruit character. Langhe DOC serves as a broader appellation that accommodates varieties including Nebbiolo, the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco, though in the Langhe designation it tends to be vinified in a more approachable, earlier-drinking style.

The current range reflects this regional breadth: the Cà da Bosio Gavi works with Cortese, the Rosso Fuoco is a Barbera d'Asti, and the Rosso Corallo is a Nebbiolo under the Langhe DOC, together offering a cross-section of Piedmont's most characterful native varieties.
