domaine Lorenzon

Domaine Lorenzon is a prestigious wine producer located in Mercurey, a small village in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. The domaine has been in the Lorenzon family for five generations and is currently run by brothers Jean-Louis and Antoine Lorenzon. Their commitment to crafting exceptional wines has earned them a reputation as one of the top producers in the region.

The domaine covers 15 hectares of vineyards, with a large portion dedicated to the production of the famous Mercurey appellation. This appellation is known for its high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, which thrive in the limestone and clay soils of the region. The Lorenzon brothers are dedicated to sustainable practices in their vineyards, using organic and biodynamic methods to produce grapes of the highest quality.

Domaine Lorenzon produces a range of red and white wines, each with its own distinct character and expression of the terroir. Their Mercurey Blanc is a crisp and refreshing Chardonnay with notes of citrus and white flowers, while their Mercurey Rouge is a bold and structured Pinot Noir with aromas of red fruits and spices. The domaine also produces a small amount of sparkling wine, made from Chardonnay grapes using the traditional method.

In addition to their Mercurey wines, Domaine Lorenzon also produces wines from the neighboring appellations of Rully and Givry. These wines are equally impressive, showcasing the diversity and complexity of the Côte Chalonnaise region. The domaine's Givry Premier Cru "Clos de Choué" is particularly notable, with its elegant and refined structure and aromas of black fruits and violets.

Domaine Lorenzon's commitment to quality is evident in every bottle of wine they produce. Their meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar results in wines that are balanced, elegant, and full of character. It is no surprise that their wines have

Domaine Bruno Lorenzon is a wine producer based in Montagny, a Chardonnay-only appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise, the southern stretch of Burgundy's main winegrowing corridor. Montagny sits between the better-known Mercurey to the north and Mâconnais to the south, producing exclusively white wines from Chardonnay across a patchwork of villages and classified premier cru sites.

Montagny is notable for having an unusually high proportion of premier cru-classified vineyards relative to its overall size, a legacy of a broad historical delimitation. The appellation's wines typically express a leaner, more mineral style than those from the Côte de Beaune, with the Chardonnay tending toward green apple, citrus, and chalky notes rather than the richer, more opulent character found further north. The region's limestone-rich soils play a significant role in shaping this profile.

The domaine's work in the Montagny premier cru lieu-dit Le Mont Laurent reflects the appellation's capacity for site-specific expression. Le Mont Laurent is one of Montagny's named premier cru parcels, and the 2022 vintage, a warm, early-harvested year across Burgundy, would have brought ripe fruit character balanced against the naturally fresh acidity that Montagny's terroir tends to preserve.
