Deep garnet with ruby highlights, this Amarone opens with intense aromas of dried cherries, raisins, and dark plum, layered with notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, leather, and a hint of dried violets. On the palate, it is full-bodied and richly structured, with velvety tannins and flavors of fig, espresso, and warm spice. The finish is long, complex, and beautifully persistent with a characteristic bittersweet elegance.

About this wine
Speri's Vigneto Monte Sant'Urbano is a single-vineyard Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from the Veneto, made from Corvina grapes dried before fermentation in the traditional appassimento method that defines the category. This is Amarone at its most concentrated, built for extended cellaring and serious occasions.
Expect dense dried-cherry and fig fruit, notes of chocolate and dried herbs, and a warming 15% abv that carries real weight on the palate. Serve at 16-18°C with beef, lamb or venison, or match its richness against blue cheese and Roquefort.
