Deep ruby with garnet hues, this Gran Selezione opens with intense aromas of ripe black cherry, dried rose, and subtle tobacco, underpinned by earthy notes of leather and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, concentrated flavors of dark plum, cassis, and sun-dried tomato are framed by firm yet refined tannins and vibrant Sangiovese acidity. The oak integration adds hints of cedar and vanilla, while the finish is long, persistent, and elegantly structured.

About this wine
Ruffino's Ducale Oro is a Riserva expression of Chianti Classico DOCG, made entirely from Sangiovese grown in Tuscany's Chianti Classico zone. The Riserva designation means longer ageing before release, giving the wine more structure and depth than a basic Chianti.
Expect the variety's signature cherry and dried herb character, firm tannin and bright acidity, all built for the table rather than the sofa. Pour it with red meat, beef, charcuterie or anything tomato-based, and serve at 16-18°C so the fruit doesn't get swamped by heat.
