Tasting notes

There was no frost damage at Petit Village in 2017. Composed of 71% Merlot , 20% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Petit Village displays a medium to deep garnet-purple colour and needs a little coaxing to reveal notes of baked blackberries, boysenberries and plum preserves plus hints of Sichuan pepper, underbrush and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a generous amount of black fruits with a solid, grainy frame and lovely freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick.

About this wine

Château Petit-Village is a distinguished Pomerol estate producing refined red wines that exemplify the richness and complexity of Bordeaux's most coveted right-bank appellation. Situated in the heart of Pomerol, the château benefits from exceptional terroir characterized by clay and gravel soils that impart depth and structure to its wines.

This red wine is crafted from a thoughtful blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, combining the soft elegance of Merlot with the textural sophistication of Cabernet Franc and the structured tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon. The resulting wine showcases a full-bodied profile with firm tannins and distinctive black fruit character, delivering a lively and well-balanced expression of classic Pomerol style.

Château Petit-Village pairs beautifully with prime cuts of beef, lamb, and game, making it an excellent choice for fine dining and special occasions. The wine's structure and complexity also complement rich, savory dishes and aged cheeses, securing its place in refined cellars and luxury settings.
