Tasting notes

A brooding and opulent expression with deep aromas of blackberry, dark plum, and toasted oak, layered with hints of tobacco, leather, and dried violet. On the palate, concentrated dark fruit is framed by velvety yet powerful tannins, with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and a whisper of mineral earthiness. The finish is long, structured, and impressively persistent, reflecting the intensity characteristic of old-vine Tinta de Toro.

About this wine

Termanthia is Numanthia's wine from Toro, in Castilla y León, a region built on old, low-yielding vines and a continental climate that pushes ripeness and concentration. At 14.5% abv, it sits at the fuller end of Spanish red wine, reflecting Toro's reputation for depth and structural weight.

Expect a dense, dark-fruited style with firm tannins and real grip, built to stand up to rich, savoury cooking. Serve at 16-18°C alongside beef, lamb, venison, game birds or anything off the grill, this is a wine for charred, well-seasoned protein, not delicate fare.
