Tasting notes

The 2018 Château Corton-Grancey Grand Cru exhibits notes of dark berry fruit, cherries, forest floor and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and elegantly muscular, it's the most introverted and youthfully reserved of Latour's Corton bottlings. It's a blend based on Bressandes.

About this wine

Louis Latour's Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru represents one of Burgundy's most prestigious expressions of Pinot Noir. This storied estate, family-owned since 1797, has established itself as a custodian of excellence in the Corton appellation, where limestone-rich soils and ideal exposure create ideal conditions for producing world-class red wines. The Grand Cru designation reflects the vineyard's superior terroir and the producer's unwavering commitment to quality.

Crafted from meticulously selected Pinot Noir grapes, this wine embodies the classic characteristics of Corton's complex geology and continental climate. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for the fruit and the vineyard's natural expression, resulting in a concentrated, full-bodied wine with remarkable structure and aging potential. Subtle toasty notes and earthy undertones characteristic of fine Burgundy reflect careful oak maturation and the vineyard's mineral-driven character.

This versatile Grand Cru pairs beautifully with refined cuisine: lamb, venison, beef, and duck showcase its depth, while creamy Gruyère and earthy mushroom dishes highlight its complexity. The wine also complements charcuterie, truffles, and aromatic herb-driven preparations, making it an essential choice for fine dining tables, cellar collections, and the most discerning occasions.
