Koehler Ruprecht is a German winery based in the Pfalz region, one of Germany's largest and most diverse wine-producing areas. The Pfalz lies along the western edge of the Rhine Valley, benefiting from a relatively warm, dry climate that allows for extended growing seasons and the production of both dry and sweet wine styles.

The Pfalz region is particularly renowned for its Riesling production, where the grape variety expresses itself across a spectrum from bone-dry to intensely sweet dessert wines. The region's varied soils, ranging from limestone and sandstone to volcanic deposits, contribute to the complexity and mineral character found in Pfalz Rieslings. The warmer climate here often allows for more body and richness compared to Rieslings from Germany's cooler northern regions like the Mosel.

Koehler Ruprecht works with Riesling, producing wines from the Saumagen vineyard site. Their range includes Auslese Trocken wines, which represent the German classification for dry wines made from grapes picked at Auslese ripeness levels, combining the concentration and complexity of late-harvest fruit with a dry finish.
