Tasting notes

The NV Terrantez 20 Year Old was produced in their half-dry style, with 74 grams of sugar, balanced by 8.02 grams of acidity. It matured in a solera style of dynamic blending of different vintages in their cellars at a constant temperature. Terrantez is important for them, and they think the wine needs time; but it keeps the floral notes, white almonds the hints of pollen, tea leaves, elegant and complex. It has a nose that speaks of an ethereal and light wine, but the palate is very intense, though terribly balanced and elegant. It's a wine that combines power with elegance. 1,015 bottles were filled in March 2024.

About this wine

Henriques & Henriques produces some of Madeira's finest fortified wines from their estate on Portugal's volcanic island. This 20-year Terrantez exemplifies the house's commitment to traditional winemaking methods and expressive terroir. The Terrantez grape, native to Madeira, develops complex character through extended aging in warm conditions, creating a wine of remarkable balance and elegance.

At 20% ABV, this limited edition offering delivers the power and warmth characteristic of premium Madeira, with a sophisticated profile that bridges sweetness and acidity. The extended aging process concentrates flavors while maintaining refinement, making it equally suited to contemplative sipping or as a distinguished pairing with dessert and cheese courses.

Perfect for cheese and charcuterie boards, aged cheeses, blue cheese, chocolate, caramel, and roasted nuts, this Madeira transitions gracefully from aperitif to digestif. A versatile addition to any fine wine collection, particularly for those seeking Portugal's most elegant fortified expressions.
