Tasting notes

Burgundy/black in color, the Pinot Noir leads with a nose littered with bone/meat broth, pink and black peppercorn, umami mushroom and black cherry. In the mouth, the wine is ripe tasting, sinewy and dark, shaped by firm tannins. There’s just a lick of salted liquorice.

About this wine

Greywacke Pinot Noir represents the pinnacle of Marlborough winemaking, produced by a celebrated New Zealand estate renowned for its commitment to quality and terroir-driven expression. Located in the heart of Marlborough, one of the world's premier Pinot Noir regions, Greywacke harnesses the distinctive characteristics of this cool-climate vineyard to craft wines of remarkable elegance and depth.

This red wine showcases the classic attributes of premium Pinot Noir: a medium-bodied frame with vibrant red fruit character balanced by subtle floral and blossom notes. The 13.5% alcohol content reflects careful viticulture and precise harvesting, allowing the wine's natural complexity to shine without heaviness. A hallmark of Greywacke's philosophy is the long, refined finish that lingers on the palate, a signature of wines made with meticulous attention to detail.

Greywacke Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with lamb, venison, duck, and game birds, making it an ideal choice for fine dining and special occasions. Its versatility extends to mushroom-based dishes and elegant pork preparations. Whether enjoyed at your villa, chalet, or aboard a yacht, this Marlborough red delivers sophisticated, food-friendly drinking that appeals to discerning palates.
