Nassitis means ‘islander’ in the Doric dialect used by the first inhabitants of Santorini who lived on the island 4,000 years ago. This wine is a blend of Assyrtiko, Aidani and Athiri. The nose shows an exotic bouquet of tropical fruits, pineapple and mango, followed by peach and apricot notes. On the palate, green apples and peppery herby fruits complement the minerality of the wine. It has a long-lasting feeling - very refreshing!

Gaia is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of the Santorini island in Greece. The winery was founded in 1994 by Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, two passionate wine enthusiasts who shared a vision of producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of Santorini.

The history of winemaking in Santorini dates back to ancient times, and Gaia is proud to continue this tradition by using indigenous grape varieties such as Assyrtiko, Athiri, and Aidani. The volcanic soil of Santorini, combined with the hot and dry climate, creates a unique environment that gives the wines their distinctive character.

Gaia produces a range of wines, including white, red, and dessert wines. Their flagship wine is the Thalassitis, a dry white wine made from 100% Assyrtiko grapes. This wine is known for its crisp acidity, minerality, and citrus aromas, and has won numerous awards and accolades.

Another notable wine from Gaia is the Wild Ferment Assyrtiko, which is made using natural yeasts found on the grapes. This wine has a complex and intense flavor profile, with notes of ripe fruit, honey, and spices.

In addition to their wines, Gaia also produces a unique spirit called Vinsanto. This dessert wine is made from sun-dried Assyrtiko grapes and aged in oak barrels for several years. The result is a rich and sweet wine with flavors of caramel, dried fruit, and nuts.

Overall, Gaia is a producer that truly embodies the spirit of Santorini. Their wines and spirits are a testament to the island's rich history and unique terroir, and are sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseurs.
