Tasting notes
This superb Châteauneuf-du-Pape pulls off the impossible, combining brooding notes of tar and dry earth with a freshness that’s quite remarkable for such a hot, dry vintage. It’s generous yet poised, with a lovely sense of juiciness, real elegance and a finely woven texture. The finish is long and velvety, with a delicacy that draws you back for another sip. A cuvée crafted from old-vine Grenache.

About this wine
Clos de l'Oratoire makes this Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the southern Rhône, blending Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah in the appellation's Grand Cru tradition. It is grown on the region's characteristic galet stones, which store heat and push the grapes to full ripeness.
Expect a generous, warm-climate red with dark fruit, garrigue and peppery spice, backed by enough grip to stand up to rich food. At 13.5% ABV, it suits beef, lamb, venison, game birds or roast poultry. Serve at 16-18°C, with time to breathe before pouring.
