Established at the beginning of the 19th century, Château Phélan-Ségur is the work of a remarkable winegrower, Mr. Phélan, of Irish origin, came to settle in Saint-Estèphe.
This cru, one of the most extensive in the Médoc, was made up of two properties, Clos de Garramey and Château Ségur, which belonged to the Count of Ségur, nicknamed the `` prince of the vines ''.
The castle, recognized by all as an exceptionally successful model, was born from the desire of a man to bring together in a homogeneous and fully integrated architectural whole the prestigious residence, the farm buildings, the cellars and the vat room. The high-quality terroir, with controlled yields and modernized facilities, ensure that the wines produced are very regular from one vintage to another.
