  • ”The 2014 Camensac has a vivid and vivacious bouquet with bright black cherry and boysenberry fruit, a touch of pencil lead developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with thickset tannin, an Haut-Medoc of commendable structure that may well see it aging more slowly than others. I appreciate the fruit concentration here, while it exerts a pleasant grip on the finish." - Neal Martin

  • ”One of the finest, if not the very best Camensac I have ever tasted, this wine possesses loads of black currants, black cherries, cedar wood and spice box as well as a bit of earth and underbrush. It is medium to full-bodied, very generously endowed and quite long." - Robert Parker

Château Camensc is a 5ème Cru Classé owned by the Forner brothers, who also own the well-known Marques de Caceres bodega in Rioja. They replanted most of the vines in the 85 hectare estate, renovated the cuverie and cellars and also hired wine consultant Emile Peynaud which combined has significantly improved the quality of the wines. The wines are now concentrated with a focus on elegance, finesse, harmony and balance as opposed to power. Approachable when young but will also continue to improve for up to 10 years.
