Clément

Clément is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of the Martinique region in the French West Indies. This beautiful and exotic island is known for its lush landscapes, tropical climate, and rich history, making it the perfect setting for producing high-quality wines.

Founded in 1887 by Homère Clément, this family-owned and operated winery has a long and storied history. Originally a sugar plantation, Homère Clément had a vision to transform his land into a winery and began planting vines in 1887. Today, Clément is run by the fourth generation of the Clément family, who continue to honor Homère's legacy and produce exceptional wines.

The winery is located in the AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) region of Martinique, which is known for its volcanic soils and ideal climate for growing grapes. The unique terroir of the island, combined with the expertise of the Clément family, results in wines that are full of character and reflect the essence of Martinique.

One of the most famous and unique wines produced by Clément is its Rhum Agricole. This spirit is made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, rather than molasses, which is typically used in rum production. This process gives the Rhum Agricole a distinct and complex flavor profile, with notes of tropical fruits, spices, and a hint of sweetness.

Clément also produces a range of red, white, and rosé wines using traditional French winemaking techniques. The red wines are made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot grapes, while the white wines are made from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes, resulting in a refreshing and delicate wine.

In addition to its exceptional wines, Clément also offers visitors the opportunity to tour the winery and learn about the win
