Château Kirwan

Château Kirwan is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of the Margaux appellation in the Bordeaux region of France. With a history dating back to the 18th century, this estate has established itself as a leading producer of high-quality wines, known for their elegance, complexity, and aging potential.

Nestled in the village of Cantenac, Château Kirwan benefits from a prime location in the Margaux appellation, which is renowned for producing some of the most sought-after wines in the world. The estate covers 40 hectares of land, with 40% planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% with Merlot, 20% with Cabernet Franc, and 10% with Petit Verdot. These carefully selected grape varieties are perfectly suited to the region's terroir, which is characterized by gravelly soils and a mild maritime climate.

Château Kirwan is owned by the Schÿler family, who have been dedicated to preserving the estate's legacy and producing exceptional wines since they acquired it in 1925. Today, the fifth generation of the family continues to oversee the production of their wines with the same passion and commitment as their predecessors.

The winemaking process at Château Kirwan is a blend of tradition and modern techniques. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted before being fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels for 18-20 months, with regular racking to ensure optimal aging.

The flagship wine of Château Kirwan is its Grand Vin, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. This wine is known for its full-bodied, rich, and complex character, with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and spice. The estate also produces a second wine, Les Charmes de Kirwan, which is made from younger vines and offers a more approach
