San Polino

San Polino is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of the stunning Tuscan region in Italy. This family-owned winery is situated in the small village of Montalcino, which is famous for its production of high-quality wines, particularly the illustrious Brunello di Montalcino.

The winery was founded in 1996 by Luigi Fabbro and Katia Nussbaum, who were inspired by their love for the land and their passion for crafting exceptional wines. From the very beginning, their focus has been on producing organic and biodynamic wines that truly reflect the unique terroir of Montalcino.

San Polino’s vineyards cover a total area of 22 hectares, with over 6 hectares dedicated to the production of Brunello di Montalcino. The vines are grown at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, which allows for a longer ripening period and results in wines with a perfect balance of acidity and tannins. The vineyards are also surrounded by woodland, providing a natural barrier against external influences and creating a microclimate that is ideal for grape cultivation.

The winemaking process at San Polino is a combination of tradition and innovation. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure only the best fruit is used. Natural yeasts are used during fermentation, and the wines are aged in large oak barrels for at least 3 years before bottling.

One of San Polino’s most renowned wines is the Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. This exceptional wine is only produced in the best vintages and is the result of strict grape selection and meticulous winemaking techniques. It is a full-bodied wine with intense aromas of dark berries, leather, and spices, and a long, elegant finish.

In addition to their Brunello di Montalcino, San Polino also produces other remarkable wines, including Rosso di Montalcino, a younger and more approachable version of Brunello
