Casamigos is a premium tequila brand that was founded in 2013 by actor George Clooney, along with business mogul Rande Gerber and real estate developer Mike Meldman. The name "Casamigos" comes from the Spanish words for "house of friends," reflecting the brand's origins as a tequila made for personal consumption among the founders' close circle of friends.

The Casamigos tequila is produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, in the town of El Arenal. This region is renowned for its ideal climate and soil for growing blue agave, the plant from which tequila is made. The agave used in Casamigos tequila is hand-selected from the Jalisco highlands, ensuring only the finest and most flavorful agave is used in the production process.

Casamigos offers three types of tequila: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo. The Blanco is unaged and has a smooth, crisp taste with hints of citrus and vanilla. The Reposado is aged for 7 months in American white oak barrels, giving it a rich and subtle smokiness. The Anejo is aged for 14 months in the same barrels, resulting in a smooth and complex flavor with notes of caramel and cocoa.

One of the unique aspects of Casamigos is its distillation process. The tequila is distilled using a proprietary method that involves slow cooking the agave in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours.
