Chapuy is a renowned wine producer located in the scenic region of Champagne, France. This family-owned winery has been crafting exceptional champagnes for over 150 years, making it one of the oldest and most respected producers in the region. Their dedication to quality and tradition has earned them a loyal following and numerous accolades.
The Chapuy family has been involved in winemaking since the 19th century, when Louis Chapuy established the first vineyards in the village of Oger, in the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs. Today, the family's commitment to producing exceptional champagnes is continued by the fifth generation, with brothers Pierre and Philippe Chapuy at the helm.
The terroir of Champagne is unique and plays a crucial role in the quality of the wines produced. The region's cool climate, chalky soils, and gentle slopes provide ideal conditions for growing the three main grape varieties used in champagne production: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Chapuy's vineyards are located in some of the most sought-after areas of Champagne, allowing them to produce outstanding grapes that reflect the region's terroir.
Chapuy's champagnes are crafted using traditional methods, with a strong emphasis on handcrafting and attention to detail. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and then undergo a slow, gentle pressing to extract the best juice. The wines are then fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged in the cellars for a minimum of three years, allowing them to develop their unique character and complexity.
Chapuy's portfolio includes a range of champagnes, from their flagship Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, to their prestigious vintage bottlings. Each champagne is a true reflection of the Chapuy family's passion for winemaking and their deep understanding of their terroir.
