Joseph Mellot is a wine producer based in Sancerre, in the Loire Valley of France. The estate focuses on crafting wines from the Sancerre appellation, working exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc to produce white wines that reflect the terroir of this renowned Loire Valley subregion.

Sancerre sits on the left bank of the Loire River and is celebrated for producing some of France's most distinctive Sauvignon Blanc wines. The appellation's diverse soils include limestone-rich terres blanches, flint-heavy silex, and clay-limestone caillottes, each contributing different characteristics to the wines. Sancerre Sauvignon Blancs typically display mineral-driven profiles with citrus and herbaceous notes, supported by bright acidity that reflects the region's continental climate and chalky soils.
