The estate was originally founded by Baron de Saint-Pierre, who gave the chateau its name. The chateau changed hands several times throughout the years, but it wasn't until the 1980s when it was acquired by Henri Martin that the estate truly flourished.

Under Martin's ownership, the chateau underwent significant renovations and modernizations, including the construction of a new winery and the implementation of sustainable farming practices. Today, Chateau Saint Pierre is owned and operated by his son, Jean-Louis Triaud, who continues to uphold the estate's commitment to producing high-quality wines while respecting the environment.

The vineyards of Chateau Saint Pierre are located on a gravelly plateau, typical of the Saint-Julien appellation. The soil here is a mixture of gravel, sand, and clay, which provides excellent drainage and forces the vines to dig deep for nutrients. This unique terroir, coupled with the maritime climate of Bordeaux, creates ideal conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grapes.

Chateau Saint Pierre produces two main wines: the grand vin, Chateau Saint Pierre, and the second wine, Les Hauts de Saint Pierre. Both wines are made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with the grand vin typically consisting of a higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon.
