Pedro Parra

Pedro Parra is a renowned Chilean winemaker who has gained international recognition for his exceptional wines. Born in Santiago, Chile, Parra has always had a deep passion for wine and a desire to showcase the unique terroir of his home country through his craft.

Parra's winemaking journey began at a young age, as he grew up in a family of winemakers. He studied agronomy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and later went on to complete his PhD in terroir and geology in France, where he gained a deep understanding of vineyard soils and their impact on wine.

In 1999, Parra returned to Chile and founded his own consulting company, focused on helping wineries analyze and understand their soils. This led him to work with some of the most prestigious wineries in Chile, including Lapostolle, Montes, and Viña Errazuriz, where he helped improve the quality and expression of their wines.

In 2013, Parra established his own wine label, Pedro Parra y Familia, where he applied his extensive knowledge of soils and terroir to produce his own wines. He sources grapes from various vineyards across Chile, carefully selecting sites with different soil types to showcase the diversity of Chile's terroir.

Parra's wines are a true reflection of his philosophy that "great wines are born in the vineyard." He believes that the key to producing exceptional wines lies in understanding the soil and its influence on the grapes. His meticulous approach to winemaking and his commitment to showcasing Chile's unique terroir have earned him critical acclaim and a loyal following among wine enthusiasts.
