Ànima Negra is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of the Spanish island of Mallorca, known for its unique and distinctive wines made from indigenous grape varieties. The winery was founded in 1994 by Pere Obrador and Miguel Ángel Cerdá, who shared a passion for the land and a desire to create exceptional wines that reflected the character and identity of their homeland.
Located in the region of Felanitx, in the southeast of Mallorca, Ànima Negra's vineyards are situated at the foot of the Serra de Llevant mountain range, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The region's limestone-rich soils, combined with the cooling sea breeze, create the perfect conditions for growing quality grapes with a unique character.
The winery is best known for its flagship wine, Àn/2, a blend of Callet, Mantonegro and Fogoneu grape varieties, which are native to Mallorca. This wine is a true reflection of the region's terroir, with its intense aromas of red fruits, spices and Mediterranean herbs, and its elegant and complex palate. It has received numerous awards and accolades, establishing Ànima Negra as one of the top wine producers in Mallorca.
In addition to Àn/2, Ànima Negra also produces other unique and characterful wines, such as Ànima Negra Son Negre, a single varietal wine made from the rare and indigenous grape variety, Callet. This wine is a true representation of the winery's commitment to preserving and showcasing the traditional grape varieties of the region.
Apart from its exceptional wines, Ànima Negra is also known for its sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. The winery follows organic and biodynamic principles in its vineyards, using natural fertilizers and avoiding the use of chemicals. This dedication to sustainability is reflected in the quality and authenticity of their wines.
