The estate has been under the ownership of the same family for four generations, with current owner and winemaker Jérôme Billard taking over in 1999. Under his guidance, the estate has become one of the most respected and sought-after producers in the Chinon appellation.

The vineyards of Domaine de la Noblaie are spread over 25 hectares, with a variety of soils including clay, limestone, and sand. The estate also grows small amounts of Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc for white wine production.

One of the standout wines from Domaine de la Noblaie is their Chinon "Le Temps des Copains," which is a blend of Cabernet Franc and a small percentage of Chenin Blanc. This wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, resulting in a complex and well-structured wine with notes of red fruit, herbs, and a touch of oak.
