Tasting notes

This volcanic white from the slopes of Mount Etna opens with compelling aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and crushed stone, underpinned by a distinctive smoky minerality characteristic of the region's basaltic soils. On the palate, expect bright acidity framing flavors of lemon zest, green apple, fennel, and saline notes, with a textured, almost waxy mid-palate. The finish is long, dry, and refreshingly mineral.

About this wine

Pietradolce makes this Etna Bianco from Carricante grown on the volcano's dark volcanic soils in Sicily. It sits within the Etna DOC, a zone where altitude and mineral-rich ground give whites real tension and cut, a world away from typical southern Italian whites.

Expect citrus, green apple and a saline, ashy minerality with bright acidity carrying through the finish. Serve at 10-12°C alongside grilled fish, shellfish, tapas or a simple green salad on deck.
