Red mahogany in color with reddish hues. Sweet aromas of ripe fruit mingle with hints of citrus fruit and herbaceous notes, over a smoked wood base. On the palate it is flavorsome, velvety and balanced. A bitter finish, with a delicate and distinctive nutty aftertaste.

About this vermouth
Lustau's Vermut Rouge is a red vermouth from Spain, aromatised and fortified in the classic style at 15% ABV, made for sipping as readily as for mixing.
Expect deep ruby colour, notes of dried orange peel, bitter herbs and a touch of caramelised sugar, with a lingering, gently bitter finish. Serve chilled at 7–9°C over ice with a twist, or use it as the backbone of a Negroni or Manhattan at the yacht bar.

Ingredients
- 60ml Lustau - Vermut Rouge
- 20ml Hennessy VSOP Cognac
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 10ml Demerara Sugar Syrup (1:1)
Method
- Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes.
- Add the Lustau - Vermut Rouge, Hennessy VSOP Cognac, and Angostura Bitters.
- Stir gently for 20-30 seconds until well-chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Carefully express the oil from an orange peel over the surface of the drink, then discard the peel.
Serve
Coupe glass, expressed orange peel as garnish.
