Tasting notes
At first sight, the wine is a perfect illustration of its place name. It is worthy of the wonderful Meursault whose colour is golden without being yellow. The nose, concentrated and elegant, full without being heady, evokes aromas of almond, warm bread just taken out of the oven, hot croissant, then, fine spice and finally grilled dried fruit. The flavours are at the same refined level as the aromas. The body is round without being heavy; the acidity is well integrated and is never biting. The texture feels like silk without the alcohol ever being dominant. The wine develops on the palate and opens fully until the very long aftertaste brings back some of the precious aromas felt in the bouquet: almond paste and hot brioche.

About this wine
Joseph Drouhin's Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru represents a pinnacle of white Burgundy craftsmanship. This Chardonnay from the prestigious Meursault appellation expresses the elegance and complexity that have defined the Drouhin estate since 1880. The Les Charmes vineyard, a premier cru holding on Meursault's limestone-rich slopes, imparts distinctive mineral character alongside brioche and nutty notes, with a full-bodied structure and impressive length on the palate.
Meursault stands as Burgundy's preeminent white wine village, and Drouhin's holdings here showcase the region's mastery of Chardonnay. The estate's commitment to traditional winemaking, combining careful fruit selection with measured oak aging, yields wines of remarkable balance and age-worthiness. The wine's spicy undertones and dried fruit complexity make it remarkably versatile at the table.
Ideal for fine dining settings or special occasions, this Meursault pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry in cream sauces, and rich vegetable dishes. A quintessential choice for collectors and enthusiasts seeking authentic, terroir-driven white Burgundy.
