Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Léoville Poyferré needs a little coaxing to reveal pretty scents of violets, Black Forest cake and blueberry preserves with hints of raspberry leaves, roses, cigar box and fragrant earth. Medium-bodied, the palate has a quiet intensity with loads of subtle layers and a well-poised frame of soft, fine-grained tannins, finishing long and refreshing.
Château Léoville Poyferré stands as one of Saint Julien's most celebrated estates, crafting wines of remarkable finesse and complexity from its exceptional Left Bank terroir. This red wine blends Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot to create a harmonious expression of Bordeaux tradition, delivering an elegant profile with soft tannins and layers of red and black fruit complemented by subtle cedar and earthy notes.
The château's commitment to quality winemaking and meticulous vineyard management produces wines built for both near-term enjoyment and cellaring potential. The resulting wine pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine and fine dining fare, from lamb and beef to game birds, duck, and venison. It also complements rich cheese selections including Comté and blue cheese, as well as mushroom and truffle-based dishes, making it an versatile choice for sophisticated entertaining.
This Kosher-certified wine brings the prestige of Saint Julien to discerning collectors and those seeking premium Bordeaux with religious certification, without compromise on quality or character.
