The 2022 Louis Jadot Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a very successful vintage that combines the warmth of the year with the classic freshness of Chablis. The growing season was warm and dry, allowing the grapes to reach excellent ripeness while still preserving a vibrant acidity, resulting in a wine that is both expressive and well-balanced. On the nose, it shows bright citrus, green apple, white flowers, and a distinct mineral note reminiscent of wet stone or oyster shell. The palate is lively and precise, with a slightly rounder, more generous mid-palate than cooler vintages, yet still driven by a firm mineral backbone and a long, saline finish.
Louis Jadot's Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre is a masterclass in unoaked Chardonnay from Burgundy's most prestigious white wine region. This Premier Cru vineyard, situated on the limestone-rich soils of Chablis, produces wines of remarkable mineral character and flinty complexity. The cool continental climate and distinctive terroir impart a signature high acidity and crisp, dry profile that defines the appellation's finest expressions.
As one of Burgundy's most respected négociants, Louis Jadot combines traditional winemaking expertise with meticulous fruit selection to craft wines of elegance and authenticity. At 12.5% ABV, this medium-bodied white offers the perfect balance of freshness and sophistication. The mineral-driven character and vibrant acidity make it an exceptional pairing for shellfish, oysters, and goat cheese, ideal for sophisticated entertaining aboard yachts or in fine dining settings. Also pairs beautifully with Brie, delicate pork preparations, and oily fish.
