Woodford Reserve operates from the historic Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, Kentucky, producing premium American whiskey. The distillery sits in the heart of Kentucky's bourbon country, where limestone-filtered water and the region's climate create ideal conditions for whiskey maturation.

Kentucky's whiskey-making tradition stems from its abundant corn crops, pure limestone spring water, and temperature variations that drive the interaction between spirit and oak barrels. The state's bourbon heritage dates back over two centuries, with the limestone shelf filtering impurities from water while adding minerals that enhance fermentation and flavor development.

Woodford Reserve produces both bourbon and rye whiskey, with their rye expression representing the spicier, more assertive style characteristic of high-rye mashbill whiskeys. Rye whiskey requires a minimum 51% rye grain in the mashbill, creating a distinctly different flavor profile from bourbon with its peppery, herbal notes and drier finish.
