Adiccion Tequila

Adiccion Tequila is a premium tequila producer located in the heart of the tequila producing region of Mexico, Jalisco. Founded in 2010 by master distiller Enrique Fonseca, Adiccion Tequila is known for its exceptional quality and unique flavor profile.

Jalisco is the only region in the world that is legally allowed to produce tequila, and within Jalisco, there are five designated areas that are recognized for their tequila production. Adiccion Tequila is situated in the Los Altos region, also known as the highlands, which is known for its rich red soil and high elevation. This combination of soil and climate creates the perfect conditions for growing the blue Weber agave plant, which is the main ingredient in tequila.

What sets Adiccion Tequila apart from other tequila producers is their commitment to using traditional methods of production. They use only 100% blue Weber agave plants, hand-selected by master distiller Enrique Fonseca and his team. The agave plants are slow-cooked in a traditional brick oven for 36 hours, giving the tequila its distinctive flavor. The agave is then crushed using a traditional tahona wheel, which is a large stone wheel that crushes the agave fibers, extracting the sweet juices.

After the agave is crushed, the juice is fermented using natural airborne yeasts, resulting in a more complex and unique flavor. Adiccion Tequila is then distilled in small batches using copper pot stills, which helps to enhance the smoothness and complexity of the final product.

Adiccion Tequila offers three different expressions: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo. The Blanco is a crisp and lively tequila, with notes of citrus and agave. The Reposado is aged for eight months in American oak barrels, giving it a smooth and mellow taste with hints of vanilla and caramel. The Anejo is aged for 18 months, resulting in
