Heiwa Shuzo

Heiwa Shuzo is a Japanese sake brewery, though the product currently represented here falls within their liqueur range. The brewery is based in Wakayama Prefecture on the Kii Peninsula in western Japan, an area with a long history of sake production and access to high-quality local agricultural ingredients. Wakayama is also notable for its yuzu cultivation, the fragrant citrus fruit native to East Asia that has become a significant ingredient in Japanese culinary and beverage culture.

Their Yuzushu is a yuzu citrus liqueur, a category that typically involves macerating or blending yuzu juice and zest with a base spirit or sake. Yuzu itself is prized for its complex aromatic profile, which combines elements of lemon, grapefruit, and mandarin with a distinctly floral, almost herbal quality.
