Tasting notes

The 2018 Rully Maizières Blanc offers up notes of honeyed orchard fruit, peach and orange oil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming palate that's generous and textural. As I've written before, this sunny, gently sloping parcel is where Dureuil typically begins his harvest.

About this wine

Vincent Dureuil-Janthial's Rully Maizières is a Chardonnay from the Côte Chalonnaise, an appellation known for whites with more immediate charm than their Côte de Beaune neighbours but real Burgundian character. Maizières is one of the domaine's key sites within Rully.

Expect fresh citrus and white orchard fruit with a subtle mineral edge and gentle textural richness. Serve at 8-10°C with grilled white fish, roast chicken or a creamy risotto - an easy, food-friendly white for lunch on deck.
