Calvados “Réserve Ancestrale” (perpetual blend of very old Calvados, age unknown) is the exceptional culmination of our range. Its woody, spicy aromas of candied apple and licorice make it a rare spirit. Annual production is deliberately limited in order to preserve the very old strain of Calvados in this vintage.

About this calvados
Roger Groult - Reserve Ancestrale
Roger Groult makes Réserve Ancestrale in Normandie, northwest France. It is a Calvados, the apple brandy of the region, bottled at 40% abv and presented as the culmination of the producer's range.
The nose is woody and spicy, with candied apple and liquorice at its centre. Together these notes make it a rare spirit, with the depth you would expect of a blend of very old Calvados.
Réserve Ancestrale is a perpetual blend of very old Calvados. Calvados is distilled from fermented apple in Normandy, and this bottling shows the woody, spicy side of the style.
For guests who prefer a composed drink to a straight pour, The Ancestral Reverie is the signature cocktail for this Calvados.
