Luminous ruby with violet hues, this Chambolle-Musigny from old vines reveals a perfumed nose of fresh red cherries, wild strawberries, and violet blossoms lifted by subtle forest floor minerality. On the palate, silky tannins frame flavours of raspberry compote, dried rose petals, and a whisper of spice, with characteristic Chambolle elegance and a long, delicately floral finish underpinned by fine, chalky minerality.
Philippe Girard's Vieilles Vignes is a village Chambolle-Musigny, drawn from old-vine Pinot Noir parcels on the Côte de Nuits. The extra vine age brings concentration and depth to a wine that stays true to the village's reputation for elegance over muscle.
Expect bright cherry and redcurrant fruit, a floral lift and supple tannin. Serve at 14-16°C with duck, game birds or roast poultry, an easy, characterful choice for a Burgundy-led dinner on board.
