The Maternal Spirit

The Maternal Spirit is a shaken cocktail made with MOM Gin, served in a chilled coupe glass.

Single candied violet placed on the surface of the foam and a thin lemon twist draped over the rim

Ingredients

  • 60ml MOM Gin
  • 20ml Dry vermouth
  • 10ml Crème de violette
  • 15ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 25ml Egg white
  • 2 dashes Lavender bitters
  • 30ml Tonic water

Method

  1. Add MOM Gin, dry vermouth, crème de violette, fresh lemon juice, egg white, and lavender bitters to a cocktail shaker
  2. Dry shake without ice for 12 seconds to emulsify the egg white
  3. Add a large handful of cubed ice to the shaker
  4. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well-chilled
  5. Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into the prepared glass
  6. Top with tonic water and stir gently to combine

Serve

Serve in a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a single candied violet placed on the surface of the foam and a thin lemon twist draped over the rim. Present with the garnish positioned at 12 o'clock on the foam crown for visual balance.
