The 2015 Volnay has a pretty nose of dark cherry and cold stone scents. The palate is clean and fresh with a taut line of acidity, quite structured and like many Volnay in this finish, has the austere finish of a Pommard. Still, there is good fruit concentration here, if not quite the length.
Louis Jadot is a renowned producer of fine wines, and their Volnay is no exception. This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Volnay appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. The history of winemaking in this region dates back to the Roman era, and the unique terroir of the area has been recognized for centuries.
Louis Jadot's Volnay is produced using traditional winemaking techniques, with a focus on preserving the delicate flavors and aromas of the Pinot Noir grape. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, and then fermented in open vats using natural yeasts. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12-18 months, depending on the vintage, before being bottled.
The resulting wine is a beautiful expression of the Volnay terroir, with a delicate balance of fruit, acidity, and tannins. The nose is full of red fruit aromas, such as cherry and raspberry, with hints of spice and earthiness. On the palate, the wine is elegant and refined, with a silky texture and a long, complex finish.
Overall, Louis Jadot's Volnay is a classic example of the style of wine produced in this region of Burgundy. It is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but also has the potential to age gracefully for many years to come. Whether you are a connoisseur or a casual wine drinker, this is a wine that is sure to please.
