Tasting notes

The Louis Jadot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens 2017 is a powerful yet refined expression of Pommard, offering aromas of ripe cherry and strawberry alongside floral notes, espresso, and rich earthy tones; on the palate it is medium- to full-bodied with a satiny texture, fresh acidity, and firm, chalky tannins that give structure and aging potential, finishing long with layered fruit and mineral complexity, while the warm 2017 vintage brings slightly riper fruit and earlier accessibility compared to cooler years.

Key characteristics

About this wine

After replanting with the estate's highest quality massal selections, the 2022 Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens (Domaine Louis Jadot) marks the return to the lineup of this cuvée. For a third-leaf vineyard, the results are more than impressive. Bursting with aromas of plums, berries, spices and liquorice, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with a suave, layered profile, succulent acids and a saline finish. This is very promising.
