Tasting notes
Chardonnay One Sixteen is blended from several sites, including Cerise, Ritchie, El Diablo and Bootlegger’s Hill. Fermented in barrel and matured for 12 months in 34% new French oak, it has open-knit aromas of peach, nectarine, beeswax and matchstick. The medium-bodied palate features layered, flint-laced flavors and well-integrated new oak spice. It’s balanced by bright, mouthwatering acidity and has a long, spicy finish.

About this wine
Kosta Browne's One Sixteen Chardonnay represents the producer's commitment to crafting refined white wines from California's most prestigious regions. This Russian River Valley expression showcases the distinctive character of the appellation, a cool-climate coastal zone renowned for producing elegant, mineral-driven Chardonnays with remarkable complexity and restraint.
Kosta Browne combines traditional winemaking techniques with meticulous fruit selection to create a wine of concentration and finesse. The Russian River Valley terroir imparts flinty minerality and spicy undertones, while the region's moderate temperatures allow for extended ripening, building depth without excessive alcohol. This full-bodied yet balanced Chardonnay displays medium acidity and a dry profile, making it versatile at the table.
Pair this California Chardonnay with roasted poultry, seafood preparations, creamy risottos, or aged cheeses. Its mineral backbone and complexity also make it an excellent aperitif for discerning palates seeking something beyond the ordinary.
