Tasting notes

The unique Cuban rum Havana Club Selección de Maestros is the result of an exceptional collaboration among Maestros del Ron Cubano, who gather every year to select one by one the barrels in our bodegas that are worth of their ‘Selección’. Time to discover their Cuban rum blends! This Cuban rum blends smoky oak and spice. It is smooth on the palate, pleasant and aromatic, offering an exotic journey through a world of taste. Havana Club Selección de Maestros is distinguished by a warm amber hue and a deep red glow. On the nose, toasted pecan and spice showcase the wood ageing. On the palate, a round mouth feel leads to a complex, flavourful, full-bodied palate of cocoa, coffee, sweet tobacco and brown spices. A pleasant smoky oak and spice finish combined with candied fruits give the rum tasting experience a remarkable balance.

About this rum

Havana Club - Seleccion de Maestros

Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is a premium rum that is carefully crafted by the Maestros del Ron Cubano, a group of master blenders who have over 200 years of combined experience in the art of rum-making. This rum is a blend of hand-selected aged rums that have been matured in oak barrels for up to 15 years, resulting in a rich and complex flavour profile.

On the nose, Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros offers a bouquet of sweet vanilla, caramel, and honey, with hints of oak and tobacco. On the palate, it is smooth and velvety, with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, and spices, followed by a long and satisfying finish.

The history of Havana Club dates back to 1878, when Jose Arechabala founded the company in Cuba. The brand quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality rums, and in 1934, the company was acquired by the Cuban government. Today, Havana Club is one of the most respected rum brands in the world, and its rums are enjoyed by connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.

Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, allowing the full range of flavours to be appreciated. It is also an excellent choice for cocktails, adding depth and complexity to classic rum drinks like the Mojito and the Daiquiri. Whether you are a seasoned rum enthusiast or a newcomer to the world of spirits, Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros is a rum that is sure to impress.
