Heritage XO Reverie

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Frapin Cognac Heritage XO VIP
  • 20 ml Bénédictine D.O.M.
  • 10 ml Crème de Cacao (white)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
  • Splash filtered water

Method

  1. Place the sugar cube in a mixing glass
  2. Add the Angostura bitters and filtered water to the sugar cube
  3. Gently muddle until the sugar dissolves completely
  4. Add the Frapin Cognac Heritage XO VIP, Bénédictine D.O.M., and Crème de Cacao to the mixing glass
  5. Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes
  6. Stir continuously for 45 seconds until properly chilled and diluted
  7. Strain through a fine strainer into the prepared glass

Serve

Serve in a crystal coupe glass. Garnish with a single, large flame-kissed orange twist (expressed oils over the surface), placed delicately on the rim. Present with one large, hand-carved ice sphere in the glass. Include a small card noting the Cognac's heritage and vintage year.
