Tasting notes
Luminous golden-green in colour, this premier cru Chardonnay opens with refined aromas of white peach, lemon curd, and crushed limestone, underscored by subtle hints of toasted brioche and hazelnut from careful oak ageing. On the palate, it is precise and mineral-driven with a creamy mid-palate texture, flavours of ripe pear, citrus zest, and white flowers, supported by vibrant acidity and a long, saline, stony finish.

Key characteristics
About this wine
Les Perrieres is Domaine Berthenet's Premier Cru Montagny, a Chardonnay from this lesser-known corner of the Côte Chalonnaise in Burgundy. Montagny is unusual in being a Premier Cru appellation exclusively for white wine, and this bottling reflects the domaine's focus on precise, terroir-driven Chardonnay from the region's limestone slopes.
Expect a wine with real structure and grip: orchard fruit and citrus, a mineral core and enough weight to stand up to richer dishes. Serve at 12-14°C with shellfish, oily fish, brie or a cheese and charcuterie board.
